2024 WSOPC Tallinn Day 8: Paul Koppe Leads Final 68 in Main Event
The action was hot and heavy of Day 7 of the 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Circuit Tallinn at Olympic Park Casino and the adjoining Hilton Tallinn Park. While there were no ring winners on Friday, there was a new record established for the biggest prize pool in Olympic Tallinn Park history with 812 entries getting into the mix in the 2024 WSOP Circuit Tallinn €1,500 Main Event to create a €1,052,352 prize pool
Estonia’s Paul Koppe leads the final 68 players in this event in hopes for his first WSOP Circuit gold ring.
Meanwhile, the two-day Event #8: €1,100 Mystery Bounty attracted 218 entries to create a €209,280 prize pool. The opening day played down to the money with the top 27 players locking up at least a €1,150 min-cash going into Saturday’s final day when the exciting mystery bounties will be pulled. One player will go home with a WSOP Circuit gold ring, an invite to the $1 million guaranteed 2025 WSOP Tournament of Champions bracelet event, the €21,430 top prize, and any mystery bounties collected along the way. OlyBet.tv will be live reporting this event, including the mystery bounty pulls, once cards are back in the air at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
Meanwhile, a handful of players also won side event trophies on Friday. Netherlands’s Thomas Aalbers won Event #44: €250 NLH & PLO 4 & 5 Mix for €6,413. Finland’s Justus Kursi shipped Event #46: €250 NLH Turbo for €5,468.
Meanwhile, Riku Koivurinne continued his hot run. On Thursday, he won a gold ring after winning Event #7: €1,100 PLO 4&5 for €41,200. He added a trophy to his festival collection the following day after defeating a field of 102 players in Event #45: €250 Sviten Special for €6,330.
Paul Koppe in the Driver’s Seat for Main Event Gold
Day 2 of the 2024 WSOP Circuit €1,500 Main Event made history at Olympic Park Casino and the Hilton Tallinn Park on Friday. A total of 119 new entries came into the mix before late registration closed on Day 2, bringing the field up to 812 entries. The €1,052,352 prize pool crushed the €1,000,000 guarantee and set a new record for the largest event in Olympic Tallinn Park history.
The action played well past the money bubble, which paid the top 103 entries at least a €3,000 min-cash for double the €1,500 buy-in after Estonian poker hero Igor Pihela Jr. delivered a bad beat with ace-jack vs. ace-king on an ace-high board to eliminate Finland’s Nemo Israel emptyhanded.
Estonia’s Paul Koppe leads the way with 1,660,000, with Greece’s Enea Subashi just a chip behind with 1,655,000.
