Casey Kastle – amongst the early winners in OlyBet Vilnius Showdown

Lithuania has opened live poker summer in Baltics with the OlyBet Vilnius Showdown festival. While the €555 Main Event will offer three starting flights on Tuesday and Wednesday (June 20th-21st), early side events attracted some solid crowds.

OlyBet Vilnius Showdown is running on June 17th – 25th at the Olympic Casino Lietuva in Lithuania’s capital Vilnius. Eight of 25 events are already in the books.

Casey Kastle from Slovenia finished at the top of Event #1: €350 Progressive Bounty 2-day event, which attracted a field of 163. Paulius Kostickis was the last local to bust in 3rd. Poland’s Robert Wojciech Malinowski was quick to suggest the deal. Both players secured €6,816 prize, but C. Kastle scooped a significantly bigger bounty pot, the trophy, and the title. Event #8: €250 Bounty Hunter gathered the exact same numbers on Monday afternoon – 163 entries. After more than 11 hours of play, two local players agreed to split the remaining prize equally. Rimantas Bogužas and Vladimiras Mečkovskis each got €4,052 (+ bounties), while the latter also secured the trophy and the title. The full results of Event #8.

Five local players agreed to the deal in Event #4: €250 Sunday Special, where players bought-in 105 times. It was Julius Šeškevičius who ended up winning it in the end for €3,217, but the biggest prize of €4,200 went to Oleg Podsiblov. Local veterans Andrius Bielskis (€3,200) and Algirdas Saveikis (€2,700) were also in the mix, together with Lukas Drobnys (€3,200). The full results of Event #4.

Julius Šeškevičius also reached the heads-up battle of Event #9: €150 Monday Express KnockOut, but could not secure a win against Germany’s Oliver Gayko. The winner bagged €1,362. The full results of Event #9.

Two more Lithuanian players secured wins in the evening events. Saulius Visockas got €2,108 for the victory in Event #3: €150 Saturday Express KnockOut (The full results of Event #3), while the Event #6: €120 NLH/PLO Two-Games Turbo was taken down by Dainius Kudarauskas (€1,823). The OlyBet Vilnius Showdown festival is just catching the pace. Tuesday, June 20th, will see the start of the €555 Main Event, with 1A flight beginning at 16:00. Flights 1B and 1C will run on Wednesday, June 21st, while the winner will be crowned on Friday, June 23rd.
