Check Out the Dozen Multi-Day Events at Kings of Tallinn 2024: Autumn Edition
The inaugural Kings of Tallinn 2024: Autumn Edition is just 10 days away at the iconic Olympic Park Casino and the Hilton Tallinn Park from October 18-27. The schedule is jam-packed with a record-breaking 58 events, highlighted by the €500,000 guaranteed Main Event.
This isn’t the only milestone, as the Kings of Tallinn will establish a new record with the schedule boasting 12 multi-day events. Read on to have a closer look.
Event #2: €250 NLH DeepStack Opening Event (October 18-19)
The festival begins with the €250 NLH DeepStack Opening Event on October 18-19. This event has been a staple in previous editions and usually marks the start of the Team Competition. It has recently been revamped after attracting a significant field of 305 entries, which generated a prize pool of €63,074 during the last Kings of Tallinn in February.
Finland’s Daniel Lakka secured the top prize of €11,044 after agreeing to a heads-up deal with the UK’s Jonathan Walker, who finished second with a prize of €10,000.
This year’s event is expected to break records again, thanks to a deeper two-day structure. Players will start with 20,000 chips, and on Day 1, which begins at 3 p.m., they will play through nine levels of 30 minutes each before bagging their chips for Day 2, starting at noon. Late registration and unlimited re-entries will be available for the first three blind levels of Day 2, promising an exciting start to the Kings of Tallinn Autumn Edition.
Event #6: €350 8-Game (October 19-20)
The mixed-game action will start nearly straight out of the gate at the Kings of Tallinn: Autumn Edition. Olympic Park Casino has been the go-to place for mixed games throughout Europe and has added even more this time around while deepening the structure for others such as the €350 8-Game on October 19-20.
Like the €250 NLH DeepStack Opening Event, the €350 8-Game added another day to reduce the marathon of thinking as the games rotate between limit hold’em, limit Omaha 8 or better, limit Stud, limit Razz, limit Stud 8 or better, limit deuce-to-seven triple draw, no-limit hold’em, and pot-limit Omaha.
Norway’s Tobias Napel, who was recently witnessed battling it out during the OlyBet Showdown Riga Voodoo Bounty in September, won the last Kings of Tallinn €350 8-Game for €6,440, which attracted 64 entries for a €18,950 prize pool, but will enter this event as a back-to-back champion after also winning the event last summer as well at the 2023 Kings of Tallinn Summer Showdown.
The battle won’t be easy, even for as skilled of a mixed-game player as Napel, as the structure now allows for players to get some rest before playing for some real money the next day.
Day 1 kicks off on October 19 at noon with players starting with 30,000 in chips and blinds increasing every 30 minutes. Players can re-enter until the start of the eighth blind level of the day and will continue their attempts to accumulate chips before the 7-handed final table is reached.
The final table will begin the next day at noon and time will tell to see who will win the lion’s share of the prize pool, the trophy, and, of course, bragging rights amongst the mixed-game poker community.
Event #7: €350 NLH Kings of Tallinn Cup (October 19-21)
The €350 NLH Kings of Tallinn Cup makes its grand return, much to the excitement of the poker community, following a successful debut earlier this year. The inaugural event featured a single opening flight and drew an impressive 313 entries, resulting in a substantial prize pool of €92,679.
In that first edition, Norway’s Sven Omland triumphed over Finland’s Akseli Paalanen in a thrilling heads-up battle, securing the top prize of €19,200. This time around, Omland will face an even larger field as the tournament expands to include three opening flights on October 19-20. Each flight will consist of ten levels, with blinds lasting 30 minutes each.
The excitement picks up on Day 2, kicking off at noon. More players are expected to join the action, with late registration and unlimited re-entries remaining open for two additional blind levels. The prizes will be announced shortly later, and a winner is expected to be awarded a massive prize by the end of the evening.
Event #12: €2,000 NLH Progressive Bounty (October 20-21)
OlyBet Poker and Olympic Park Casino are rolling out the red carpet for high rollers during the 2024 Kings of Tallinn. This Kings of Tallinn, PokerPro will be bringing a host of recreational high rollers from around the globe to participate in high-stakes tournaments. A specially designated semi-private area will be available for high-stakes cash games, with most tables starting at €25/€50 or higher.
While cash games are already expected to be in full swing, the high-stakes tournament action kicks off on October 20 at 4 p.m. with the €2,000 NLH Progressive Bounty.
This six-max event promises tons of excitement, featuring progressive bounties that start at €800 and escalate rapidly. Players will begin with a robust stack of 30,000 chips and will have the opportunity to re-enter freely until late registration closes after the tenth blind level of the day. The first day will see players battling it out until they reach the money, with action resuming on Day 2 at 1 p.m. on October 21.
Event #14: €250 HORSE (October 20-21)
The €250 HORSE event makes a triumphant return to the Kings of Tallinn after being absent from the last edition at Olympic Park Casino. This year, it’s back with an enhanced format, featuring an additional day to allow players a night of rest before the big prizes are awarded.
Players will kick off the first day on October 20 at 6 p.m., starting with a stack of 25,000 chips. The structure includes blinds that increase every 25 minutes, rotating through five limit games: hold’em (H), Omaha 8 or better (O), razz (R), stud (S), and stud 8 or better (E). Participants will have the opportunity for unlimited re-entries during the first seven blind levels of the day.
The opening day will conclude once players reach the money, setting the stage for an exciting second and final day on October 21 at 1 p.m., which overlaps with the final day of the €2,000 NLH Progressive Bounty and the final day of the €350 NLH Kings of Tallinn Cup.
Event #17: €1,100 PLO4/PLO5 Championship (October 21-22)
Omaha enthusiasts are gearing up for one of Europe’s largest Omaha events, the €1,100 PLO4/PLO5 Championship, which is set to kick off on October 21 at 3 p.m.
This two-day tournament offers players ample opportunity to build their stacks, with unlimited re-entries allowed during the first 10 blind levels, each running under a 30-minute clock. The six-max format promises plenty of action as players battle until they reach the money. After a competitive Day 1, participants will have a chance to rest before returning for the second and final day, which begins on October 22 at 1 p.m.
Earlier this year, this event broke records with 108 entries, generating a prize pool of €101,520. In that thrilling edition, Germany’s Per-Thorben Kasten, who resides in Lithuania, struck a deal with Jacob Reinholdt that guaranteed the latter would take home the largest cash prize based on their chip counts at the time. However, Kasten made a remarkable comeback to clinch the trophy and a prize of €21,150, while Reinholdt finished as runner-up with a total of €21,250.
Event #20: €555 NLH Kings of Tallinn Championship (October 21-24)
The €555 NLH Kings of Tallinn Championship has generated tons of excitement in recent years and established a new Kings of Tallinn record earlier this year with 700 entries, creating a €329,000 prize pool.
Finland’s Mikko Ylamaki and Lithuanian poker coach Andrius Bielskis agreed to a heads-up deal to soften the pay jumps before battling it out for two hours heads-up on the OlyBet Poker live stream. Ylamaki came out on top to win the trophy and the €58,835 top prize, while Bielskis earned a respectable €49,875.
The €555 NLH Kings of Tallinn Championship also changed its structure, with three opening flights on October 21-22 instead of the four opening flights during the prior Kings of Tallinn. Players will start with 30,000 in chips, and blinds increase 40 minutes throughout the event except for Day 1c, which boasts a slightly shorter 30-minute clock.
Those still with chips after nine blind levels will join new players filing in and re-entering during the first three blind levels of the day after the action begins on October 23 at noon. The action will play down to just 16 hopefuls on the penultimate day with the exciting conclusion to be live-streamed until a winner is crowned starting on October 24 at noon.
Event #27: €5,000 NLH Progressive Bounty (October 22-23)
The €5,000 NLH Progressive Bounty is poised to break records at the Kings of Tallinn Autumn Edition, introducing an exciting new format that transforms it into a progressive bounty event rather than a traditional non-bounty tournament featured earlier in the year. With the support of PokerPro, numerous players from around the world are expected to converge for one of the festival’s most prestigious competitions.
In the previous edition, Estonia’s Markkos Ladev took home the trophy after overcoming a competitive field of 29 players, securing the lion’s share of the €132,240 prize pool with a top prize of €47,290.
The action for this year’s event kicks off on October 22 at 5 p.m., with players starting with a substantial stack of 50,000 chips. Blinds will increase every 30 minutes, and all players will have the opportunity to re-enter or register late during the first 10 blind levels of the day. The first day will conclude after Level 14.
The excitement continues as players reconvene for Day 2, which begins on October 23 at 1 p.m. This day promises to be thrilling, especially with the €500,000 guaranteed Main Event starting earlier in the day.
Event #31: €1,100 NLH Kings of Tallinn Main Event (October 23-27)
The highlight of the festival in the €500,000 Kings of Tallinn €1,100 Main Event begins with its four opening flights on October 23-25 with players starting with players starting with 30,000 in chips. Blinds will increase every hour throughout the event with the exception of Day 1b, which will boast a 30-minute clock.
Players who bag chips after eight blind levels of play will join not only join the others doing the same during the opening flights but also new players who wish to enter or re-enter with late registration remaining open for the first hour-long blind levels of the day. The payouts will be announced shortly after late registration closes with players battling it out for three more days until a winner is crowned on the OlyBet Poker live-stream on October 27.
The €500,000 guarantee is just a placeholder as we expect the field to be much larger. A new record was established earlier this year when 914 entries created a €859,160 prize pool to obliterate by nearly 200 entries the previous record of 716 entries from 2013.
A three-way deal was agreed between Edgaras Kausinis, fellow Lithuanian Mantas Tamulevicius, and Finland’s Aleksi Naski, guaranteeing each €105,000 before Kausinis entered his name into the Kings of Tallinn record books with an epic victory worth €120,910.
Event #44: €250 PL Sviten Championship (October 25-26)
Sviten Special is a fun game that has grown in popularity since it was first introduced in Sweden. It combines five-card Omaha and five-card draw in what is usually a pot-limit affair.
This event at the last Kings of Tallinn attracted a banner field of 103 entries for a €21,300 prize pool to establish a new record before Sweden’s Bjorn Lindberg shipped the bacon for the €4,220 top prize.
This is another event that has enhanced its structure thanks to both the popularity of the event and feedback from the players. Instead of the 20,000 starting stack, players will now start with 30,000. In addition, players will enjoy a longer 30-minute clock instead of a 20-minute clock featured last event.
The event has also added a day with the enhanced structure. The first day begins on October 25 at 5 p.m. with players able to re-enter or late register until the start of Level 10. The action will conclude after the money bubble has broken with players coming back ready to compete for the trophy on October 26 at 1 p.m.
Event #45: €1,100 NLH Progressive Bounty (October 25-26)
To the delight of bounty hunters, the two-day €1,100 Progressive Bounty is another new two-day event added to Kings of Tallinn 2024: Autumn Edition. Players will start with 30,000 in chips and a €400 progressive bounty on their heads when the action begins on the event of October 25 at 7 p.m.
The opening day features 12 blind levels, each lasting 30 minutes, with late registration and unlimited re-entries cut off at the start of Level 10. The second and final day will play down to a winner on October 26, starting at noon in what promises to be an exciting new addition to the Kings of Tallinn.
Event #52: €3,000 NLH (October 26-27)
The €3,000 NLH event has been a staple at the Kings of Tallinn for many years, consistently drawing competitive fields. The last edition witnessed 58 runners, creating a substantial €154,280 prize pool, and this year’s turnout is projected to be even larger. Cypriot Georgios Tsouloftas defeated local Estonian hero Ermo Kosk heads-up to win the €52,430 top prize.
As has been the case previously in this event, players will start with a generous stack of 50,000 chips, with blinds increasing every 30 minutes. Late registration will be available for the first 10 blind levels, allowing ample opportunity for players to join the action before the day concludes after 14 blind levels.
The final day of this exciting tournament will coincide with the conclusion of the €1,100 Main Event, promising an electrifying finish to the festival.
