Kings of Tallinn Summer Showdown will rock the Baltics in July with 53 events!
The Tallinn Summer Showdown poker festival, now in its seventh edition, is set to make a grand return to the plush surroundings of Olympic Park Casino and the adjacent Hilton Tallinn Park. This prestigious event is a cherished part of the esteemed Kings of Tallinn family. Brace yourself for ten thrilling days of poker action as the Kings of Tallinn Summer Showdown festival takes the Estonian capital by storm from July 21 to July 30.
Players will come from throughout the world, with bigger groups coming from the nearby Scandinavian and Baltic countries, to play in the largest poker festival in Northern Europe during the summer, to enjoy the 53 action-packed events and, of course, cash games around the clock. The Kings of Tallinn 2023 festival, held in February, shattered all previous records, offering a phenomenal poker experience to enthusiasts hailing from 36 countries.
The schedule, designed by the famous tournament director Teresa Nousiainen, features something for everyone, with buy-ins ranging from €60 to €5,000. Making its much-anticipated debut, the €5,000 One-Day High Roller event caters to the desires expressed by numerous players who have eagerly anticipated its inclusion in the lineup. Players can also test their skills for free, with some satellites boasting no cost to play. Poker enthusiasts love the variety at the Kings of Tallinn Summer Showdown, with many formats on tap, including the popular No-Limit Hold ’em, various Pot-Limit Omaha structures, 8-Game, Sviten Special, Open Face Chinese, and more. And those willing to skip the early level grind will be happy to see the unique GGPoker Flip&Go Mystery Bounty event coming back after the successful debut in Kings of Tallinn 2023.
Many players have their eyes on the festival’s crown jewel in the Kings of Tallinn Summer Showdown €1,100 Main Event. Satellites for this prestigious event will be hosted at the Olympic Casino venues in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Slovakia and are already running online at OlyBet Poker.
“The Tallinn Summer Showdown is the most popular poker festival in Northern Europe during the summer as it offers amazing poker action with 53 events designed by world-renowned tournament director Teresa Nousiainen and a fun vibe for both recreational and professional poker players,” said Olympic Entertainment Group Poker Director Christer Larsson. “The festival offers something for everyone thanks to the many different poker formats at a variety of buy-ins, a team competition, cash games running around the clock, and a four-day Main Event that can’t be missed. The weather in Tallinn during the summer is fantastic for players that wish to take a break from the poker action with the sun nearly always shining day and night.”
About the Kings of Tallinn Summer Showdown Main Event
The Kings Tallinn Summer Showdown Main Event is hard to match at this buy-in level in Europe thanks to the one-hour blind levels throughout the event, with one small exception. Players will have plenty of opportunities to build a massive stack, starting off with 30,000 in chips during the three opening flights on July 26-27. The final opening flight is a turbo-charged affair, but we can hardly call this a turbo as it still boasts 30-minute blind levels. Players can re-enter as many times as they wish until late registration closes after the second blind level is played out on Day 2 on July 28.
Those surviving the second day will compete for two more days until a champion is crowned. The event scheduling allows players to also get involved with the nightly side events, as play typically ends before 9 p.m. each day.
The Tallinn Summer Showdown began in 2017 after players requested a summer version of The Kings of Tallinn. Jukka Koskela was the inaugural winner of the Tallinn Summer Showdown Main Event, with Jargo Alavali, Mathias Siljander, GGPoker Ambassador Niall “Firaldo” Farrell, Kristian Zitting, and Glen Gaines also hoisting the Main Event trophy in subsequent years.
Team Competition Adds Excitement
Many players love Kings of Tallinn festivals because of the unique Team Competition, drawing players’ attention to the side events, plenty of which offer deep structures.
Players form teams of four, enter them on the Kings of Tallinn website and challenge each other not only in various events but also in the general classification of the Team Challenge.
The Team Competition is funded with 2% of the prize pools of qualifying events. For the first time, the five best teams will share the Team Challenge prize pool. The winners will bag 40% of it, with the runner-up getting 25% and 15% for the third place, while 4 and 5 place teams will scoop 10% each.
If you are coming alone or with a small group, don’t worry. We will help you find a team, and, in many cases, these teammates will grow into friends for life. It doesn’t cost anything to enter, and you could win a big prize and make some friends. Sounds like fun? Start inviting some friends to join you; or come alone and find a team here. What do you have to lose as it is free to enter?
