LCS 2024 Spring Season Preview
Although the actual spring season still seems somewhat far away, the beginning of the LCS (League Championship Series) 2024 Spring Season is already around the corner. For the twelfth year, the professional North American League of Legends league is gracing our screens and we’re sure that there will be no lack of exciting moments in 2024. The action will begin on the 20th of January and this split will conclude on the 10th of March, so almost 2 full months of action-packed League of Legends moments. Broadcasts will be made from the Los Angeles LCS Studio.
Who will participate?
Among participants, there are eight North American organisations/teams, that will go head-to-head during months of January, February and March. The opening duel will be between 100 Thieves and Team Liquid. On the same day, Team Liquid will once more need to prepare for a battle as they go up against Shopify Rebellion while for 100 Thieves the second game of the day will be against Cloud9, which is the concluding match of the first day. Among other participating teams are Dignitas, Immortals, FlyQuest and NRG.
What’s Hot?
Many hot news and updates have taken place before the start of the series. The 2024 LCS season will be played on the live patch, so we’ll be able to see the latest action, which is always an exciting spectacle for the fans. Teams will quickly need to adapt to any changes made to the game, so the most clever and creative players will have the edge here. Also, the breaks between games have been cut down in half, creating a much more dynamic watching experience, delivering continuous gameplay throughout the day. Chat highlights, fan votes and other fan-engaging activities will bring spectators even closer to the professional action. Those closer to Los Angeles will be able to watch games live from the studio.
As always, the beginning of the year brings many exciting roster changes to the teams. NRG are still riding the high, that was their performance in 2023 Worlds, while the newcomers of Shopify Rebellion will need to prove their worth in the server. Of course, you can never count out legendary Cloud9 and Team Liquid organisations, guys repping their banner will always compete till the last second.
Regular matches will feature the best-of-one format, while Playoff matches will transition to best-of-five. The champion and runner-up team of LCS will move on to the 2024 Mid-Season Invitational in Chengdu, China. Of course, around the world, many other League of Legends competitions are already shaping up, but for the followers of the North American scene, the LCS 2024 Spring Season will be a treat to see.
