Poker Jason Glazer 19.11.2024

American Scott Hall arrived to the inaugural 2024 Kings of Vilnius at Olympic Casino Lietuva just a hair more than $22,000 away from passing $1 million in total live poker tournament earnings as tracked by The Hendon Mob.

Hall became the biggest King of them all. The American agreed to a deal with Edvinas Grimalis before shipping the three-day Event #1: €555 NLH Kings of Vilnius Championship for €26,725 and was able to celebrate in the Lithuanian capital of Vilnius for his epic achievement of passing $1 million in recorded live poker earnings. This was also his fourth recorded victory including one event where he won a coveted WSOP Circuit gold ring after winning the 2019 WSOP Circuit Ameristar $1,700 Main Event for $130,667.

Hall wasn’t the only champion on Monday as three other players earned trophies. Vilius Zabarauskas won the two day Event #6: €350 NLH Progressive Bounty for €5,806 plus bounties. Kimantas Bartusevicius won the second title of the day for Lithuanians after finding gold in the one-day Event #10: €250 NLH Bounty for €3,735 plus bounties, while Giedrius Grigorius won another title for Lithuania in the one-day Event #11: €150 PLO4/PLO5/PLO6 for €1,926.

Scott Hall Wins €555 NLH Kings of Vilnius Championship

The third and final day of the three-day €555 NLH Kings of Vilnius Championship witnessed just nine players battling it out from the title from a field of 297 entries which created a  €142,560 prize pool for a new side event record in Lithuania.

Runner-up Edvinas Grimalis began the day with the chip lead with Tomas Jagela (4 big blinds) and Aušra Razmaitė (7 big blinds) beginning the final table action as the short stacks.

The short stacks rejoiced as Greece’s Konstantinos Tzinis, who also had a deep run later in the day in a different event, was the first on the rail in ninth place for €3,020. This left Hall battling it out against seven Lithuanians for the title and his chance to pass $1 million in total cashes.

The short-stacked Razmaitė (seventh – €4,360) and Irmantas Kaulakis (eighth – €3,610) were the next to go with Jagela miraculously laddering up to fourth place for €10,690 after Lukas Poškus (fifth – €7,620) and Artūras Bliūdžius (sixth – €5,540) were eliminated.

Sergej Babincev reached the podium but went no further than a Bronze finish for third place for €14,260 leaving Hall and Grimalis heads-up for the title just a little more than three hours from the start of the day.

The duo agreed to a heads-up deal with €5,000 left for the winner. Hall earned the extra money, the trophy, and the pride of joining an exclusive seven-figure poker club after defeating Grimalis to earn the title after a nearly two-hour heads-up battle.
