Poker OlyBet 16.05.2024

For the second year, May is the month when the biggest online poker festival in the World takes place. And for the second year, we are discussing the impressive performance of Estonian online poker player Ottomar Ladva, who has clinched over €600,000 during the GGPoker World Festival, which runs from the 5th of May to the 11th of June, is the largest online poker series ever with incredible prize pools. And former Estonian Chess prodigy reminded of himself again, winning over €600K during the first week of GGWF, while his GGPoker winnings in a two-week span already exceed €800K. This is somewhat of a déjà vu, as Ottomar began the GGWF series last year by winning over $1 million during the first week

On the 10th of May, Ottomar Ladva scored a stunning victory in the GGWF 54-S: $25,500 Thursday Titans SHR tournament, winning $290,143 after outlasting 22 competitors. On the way to the victory, the Estonian pro had to overcome top-level competition, busting Spanish superstar Adrian Mateos in 3rd and defeating his countryman Juan Pardo Domingez in a Heads-Up duel. Just two days later, on the 12th of May, Ladva triumphed in the GGWF 68-S: $10,300 Saturday Secret KO SHR Mystery Bounty event. He outlasted a field of 60 players to take down WSOP Online bracelet winner Andrii Derzhypilskyi of Ukraine for $259,627. This amount included $67,627 from the prize pool and $192,000 in bounties.

Ottomar also achieved remarkable results in two other tournaments of the festival. On the 8th, he won the GGWF 32-S: $5,250 Bounty Hunters Super High Roller tournament, beating 52 players to take home $91,880. And on the 10th of May, he finished 4th in the GGWF 50-S: $2,625 Daily Warm-Up HR, beating 90 entrants to take home $22,745

In addition, on 30th April, prior to the start of the Festival, Ladva finished second in the $10,300 buy-in GGMillion$ High Rollers event, earning $242,247 from a field of 152 entrants. At the final table of this event, he outplayed poker superstars Michael Adamo (7th), Ole Schemion (3rd), together with the already mentioned Ukrainian pro Andrii Derzhypilskyi (5th).

Ottomar Ladva isn’t the only Estonian to excel at the GGPoker World Festival. Markku Koplimaa has also had significant success, winning nearly $70,000 in two tournaments. He triumphed in the GGWF 26-H: $525 Monday Mega Heater HR Bounty Turbo tournament, outlasting 396 entrants and defeating Belarusian pro Yahor Dambrouski to take home $32,937. Koplimaa also won a Heads-Up duel against US poker heavyweight David Peters to secure the victory in the GGWF 20-S: $1,500 Bounty Hunters Fifty Stack HR tournament (106 entries), taking home $35,284

GG World Festival is catching pace, yet it will run for more than three weeks till June 12th. There were multiple other OlyBet players who already secured 5-digit wins:
