OHS day2 recap: Main Event start; First SE victory by Latvian

The OlyBet Holiday Special is getting some acceleration. The Wednesday schedule saw the Main Event‘s start and three more side tournaments. France’s Charlie Vergne finished at the top of the Main Event day 1A, while Dmitrijs Meless from Latvia won only Wednesday’s trophy.

Wednesday noon saw a few dozen players start the OlyBet Holiday Special €550 Main Event day 1A. Through the 10 levels field has risen to 82 entries, with 36 players advancing to the second leg of the competition. French player Charlie Vergne bagged the biggest capital – 187,900. Lithuanian pro Arūnas Sapitavičius was close behind with 175,000 chips, while Estonia’s Maksim Petro came third with 166,500. There were four more players to bag six-digit stacks. Event #4: €60 Mega Satellite to the OHS Main Event attracted 50 players and ended up with a slight overlay when the top10 players were awarded €550 tickets to the Main Event day 1C.

Excellent attention to Event #5: €350 PLO 4&5 Cards Championship had a bad influence on Main Event flight 1B, which got canceled. PLO event saw 52 entries, with 17 players moving forward to the final day. Graham Clarkson from the UK finished at the top with a round number of 200,000 chips, with Finland’s Jari Herri (151,000) and Juho Härkönen (126,000) also in the top3. There was only one event to end on Wednesday, and it was Event #6: €120 Wednesday Night Turbo. Many Finnish celebrities chose this tournament, led by model and former Miss Finland Sara Chafak. The event saw 57 entries and a prize pool of €5,472. In the end, Latvian Dmitrijs Meless defeated Ričardas Žygis from Lithuania for the title, trophy, and the top prize of €1,690. D. Meless will also get a €1,100 ticket to the Kings of Tallinn 2023 Main Event, as all the winners of OlyBet Holiday Special events get those seats as an extra prize. Thursday action in the Olympic Park Casino and Hilton Tallinn Park Hotel tournament area has already started. Over 50 players have begun their quest in the Main Event day 1C. The late registration will stay open till the end of the first level of day2, so the organizers expect to gather more than 200 entries.

Today players may also choose from €60 Satellite to the OHS High Roller, €250 DeepStack NLH, €250 SVITEN, and the €150 Thursday Night NLH tourney. The evening will see the final day of the €350 PLO Championship event.
