Vlads Dolgilevics Leads Kings of Tallinn Summer Showdown €1,100 Main Event

Poker OlyBet Poker 28.07.2023

The time is here! Today is the day that we will learn exactly how big the Kings of Tallinn Summer Showdown Main Event will be at Olympic Park Casino and the Hilton Tallinn Park.

A new summer-edition record has already been established with the event attracting 465 entries during the three opening flights over the past two days. However, we expect the figure to grow a bit more with late registration open during the first two levels of today’s Day 2. We are thrilled that the prize pool will soar past €500,000, considering this was the guarantee of our winter-edition Kings of Tallinn Main Event with this year’s summer-edition setting records despite no guarantee.

Day 1b chip leader from Latvia Vlads Dolgilevics leads the way over the 196 opening flight survivors when the action resumes on Friday at noon with a massive 220 big blind stack of 264,500. He is closely followed by Day 1c chip leader Phil Gross (261,500), Guillermo Cifuentes (253,000), Day 1a chip leader Feras Abid (221,000), and Kalle Parkkinen (218,100). However, it is anyone’s game and we likely will have new players near the top of the leaderboard by the conclusion of the day, which features eight more blind levels of one hour each.

You can follow along with the action in our dedicated blog, and, of course, we will provide another recap about the Main Event in tomorrow’s Kings of Tallinn Summer Showdown daily recap.

When you think of marathons you might think about running but Event #33: €250 NLH Deepstack proved that poker also has marathons from time to time with this one-day event lasting more than 17 hours.

Vladislav Topilskiy and Anders Beckman eventually agreed to a heads-up deal collecting €7,863 and €7,052 respectively in the wee hours of the morning with Topilskiy hosting the trophy.

The always smiling Lithuanian poker club Elvinas Vitkevicius proved he can do more than play poker for sport as he also won a good chunk of change playing for money. Although Vitkevicius did miss out on the deal, he likely went to bed happy after banking the third-place prize of €4,390.

Meanwhile, the Finnish poker community was once again dominating an event at the Kings of Tallinn Summer Showdown. This time, five Finnish players finished (pun intended) in the top six places in Event #34: €150 NLH/PLO/PLO5.

Norway’s Andreas Thorvaldsen was the only non-Finnish player in this group. He advanced to the podium before bowing out in third place for €1,280 to leave the Finnish duo Jussi Karpanen and Aleksi Lindholm heads-up for the title. Karpenen won the heads-up battle to claim the €2,745 with Lindholm banking €1,830 for his impressive runner-up performance.
